May 20th meting will be our End-of-the-Year Picnic.  We will set up tables and eat in the shaded area called The Sugarberry Field.  This area is located on the east side of KBG in contrast to the Rose Garden which is on the west side.  To get to The Sugarberry Field, take the roadway to the right as you leave the back of the Summer House.  If in doubt, ask the attendant on duty for directions.  The back gate will be unlocked by 1:00 pm for those needing to get in and unload.

The Gainesville Rose Society, founded in September 1964, serves Gainesville, Alachua County, and surrounding counties for information, education, and promotion of our National Flower, The Rose.  We exist to encourage and assist all persons interested in rose growing as a hobby.  Anyone interested in growing or exhibiting roses is invited to become a member.  We are one of nearly 400 societies nationwide, and our society affiliated with the American Rose Society in 1965.  Our annual membership dues are $15. Individual or $20. Family.

The Gainesville Rose Society (GRS) meets at 2:30 pm on the second Sunday of each month, September through April, in the Summer House at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, 4700 SW 58th Drive.  The December meeting is our Annual Holiday Party.  In May we celebrate the end of the operating year at our Annual Picnic, date and location to be determined.  June is the Ice Cream Social and the installation of the new officers.
